Condition EXACTLY as described below
I still have thousands of vinyl records from our audio post production days and various radio station libraries but I have quite a few WITHOUT any packaging i.e covers or inner sleeves/booklets
This vinyl is offered IN THE NUDE, just as it came out pressed all those years ago but with a new inner plastic sleeve/bag
Even though without their covers etc, I have carefully inspected each and every one of these and where necessary, played them and I describe what I heard, if anything.
Classic blues rock
Rolling Stones - Hot Rocks 1964 - 1971
London Records
Cat# 2PS 607
This is unfortunately NOT the rare version with SHELLEY in the runout
Hot Rocks Record #2 ONLY (this was released as a 2 record set)
1971
USA release
Label on both sides in excellent condition
Media inspected under a white halogen light source I can see it has a large number of light/medium scratches both sides
If you have a top end cartridge/styli then it would be wise to NOT play this record for fear of styli damage = expensive.
I have played both sides....here is how it sounds
Underlying light/medium surface noise on every track
Mistracks are considered to be small short jumps, if the track goes goes goes goes goes goes like that, unfortunately I throw it out unless there is something VERY SPECIAL about the album's other tracks.
Side 3 track 1 - Jumpin' Jack Flash medium surface noise and a couple of little mistracks
Side 3 track 2 - fine with underlying surface noise
Side 3 track 3 - small mistrack at the beginning
Side 3 track 4 - smooth track except right at the end, quick mistrack
Side 3 track 5 - best on this side, surface noise drops away
Side 4 track 1 - not so noisy but a few mistracks on this one at the beginning but a great live performance in any case.
Side 4 track 2 - mistrack in the intro (female vocals "you can't always get what you want") but once Mick takes over, its all good.
In fact from this point onward to the runout, the surface noise reduces substantially
Side 4 track 3 - great (although very controversial) lyrics
Side 4 track 4 - occasional click/pop but very low level surface noise as noted above
Sure, noisy at times and a few mistrack's but still great listening to The Stones even with the background noise - the masters of soulful blues rock in the 60's and 70's.
Songs: Jumping Jack Flash, Street Fighting Man, Sympathy For The Devil, Honky Tonk Woman, Gimme Shelter, Midnight Rambler - Live performance, You Can't Always Get What You Want, Brown Sugar, Wild Horses
