Oh Dear! This item has been sold but take a look around for other similar items

This is one of my treasured (but abused) vinyls from when I grew up in New Zealand

I LOVE music, all music but its now time to find a new home for these records.

I am hoping this vinyl will find it's way to someone who also appreciates great ground breaking New Zealand music.

This vinyl was last played about 30 years ago (until today) and then put away, bought over to Australia and then put away in safe/dry storage once again (upright)

My background is technical, particularly relating to the professional music/audio industry and because of this I give a LOT of detail about what I am offering.

Prior to advertising this vinyl, it has had a standard wet wash & vacuum and dry.

The vinyl is first visually inspected and then played ENTIRELY. None of this "played the first 30 seconds" stuff, what good is that!

Visual inspections can be deceptive, the only real way to judge a record is to actually play the whole record entirely (unless still sealed of course)

Pioneers in the New Zealand punk rockers scene, formed from member of The Enemy - members were:

Chris Knox - vocals

Alec Bathgate - guitar

Paul Kean - bass guitar

Mike Dooley - drums

Jane Walker - Keys

My personal opinion is that the bands "punk" is certainly a lot tamer than UK hardcore of the time. Some songs are pretty much classic rock, some are just plain weird (Bedroom) and then some pretty good punk such as The Crunch. Last track Side 2 (Fast Ostrich) is a bit weird, good punchy punk rock and then they start whistling! Bizzare

Side 2 has a more "gritty" style (TURN IT UP LOUD!) than Side 1 and got far more play by me ... as a result Side 2 is slightly noisier than Side 1

Cover is in good condition. This means it does not have seam splits, tears or stains on it HOWEVER it does have a handwritten name on the front top left-hand corner. I have obscured it for privacy in the photograph. The inner sleeve has no handwriting on it.

Some handling wear to the opening edge. Internal printed sleeve is supplied BUT it does have old mildew marks (see the photographs) - all covers have had a stabilising and sterilising treatment!

New plastic inner sleeve

Vinyl is in good (minus) condition, inspected under a white halogen light source, I can see quite a few light scratches and scuff marks on both sides - this vinyl has not been looked after well but none appear to be likely to cause serious problems. Vinyl surface remains clean & shiny not dull.

I then played both sides with some trepidation, and was very happy that the whole album plays really well. Sure there are the occasional click/pops but these only last for a couple of revolutions (very short) and no horrible thumps or mistracking. Even the surface noise is not bad - looks can be deceiving.

New outer protective plastic sleeve

Tracks: I Don't Mind, Swimming Pool, Death Rehearsal, Bride Of Frankenstein, Toy Love Song, Photographs of Naked Ladies, Bedroom, The Crunch, Ain't It Nice, Cold Meat, Don't Catch Fire, Green Walls, Pull Down The Shades, Frogs, Fast Ostrich
