Extremely controversial German duo from the late 1980's
Those guys on the front cover (Fabrice Morvan and Rob Pilatus) were models only, they did not actually sing the songs and used lip-sync with pre-recorded tracks. The "real" artists/singers were (Brad Howell and John Davis) but for marketing reasons, they never appeared on the album covers.
But the duo was very successful and in 1990 were awarded a Grammy, then the news got out that their performances were not "real" and the Grammy was promptly stripped from them - the only act to have had this happen.
But the models, Howell and Davis then tried to show the world they actually had what it takes and released their own album titled Rob & Fab - it failed to achieve any success.
Quite hard to find this vinyl now, most people on hearing about the "fake" Milli Manilli threw out their music - but actually the music is pretty good, it was just very poorly marketed through the use of models.
