Belinda Carlisle - We Want The Same Thing
Virgin Records
Cat# VST 1291
1990
UK release
Cover is in very good condition, no writing on the cover, no tears, no seam splits, clean but there is a light discolouring on the front top right from a previous label.
New inner plastic liner sleeve
Vinyl is in very good condition, inspected under a white halogen light source, I can see just a couple of very light scratches on each side.
I then played this vinyl on both sides, Side A and B played fine BUT Side B is a bit strange - there are no issues with dirt in the grooves etc but I run my cartridge at a very low weight so that even the smallest scratches or mistracking will be easily heard - around 0.75g but I found that ONLY ON SIDE B I tended to have the styli "float" across the vinyl, serious tracking issues. I closely inspected the vinyl and there is nothing to be seen but it is as though Side B has "tighter" grooves or more shallow and the styli could not sit in the groove properly. Increased the weight to just 0.95 and the problem disappears - on a "normal" turntable this is not going to be an issue, I just have my setup with very light tracking (on purpose).
Once the tracking force was increased very slightly, no issues at all - actually Side B is a great song - very good play!
New outer sleeve
