Out Of The Bluegums - 150 Years Of Australian Verse (Limited Edition)
J & B Records
Cat# JB 200
1984 (probably) not indicated on the cover but J & B released catalogue numbers on either side of JB 200 in 1983 & 1985 and none of the printed bio material refers to years later than the late 1970's
Australian release
Gatefold cover is in excellent condition, no seam splits, no tears, no writing, very light handling wear to the edges and inside of the gatefold is also excellent.
New inner plastic sleeves
Both vinyl are in very good condition, inspected under a white halogen light I can see no scratches at all on every side. I then played all four sides completely and there are no issues with surface noise or clicks/pops. This is particularly important with such material and this record set is truly very very good to sit back and listen to, not just for the verse but also to once again hear the readers (many of whom have now passed on)
New outer protective sleeve
Each reading has a spoken intro or outro to guide the listener, the narrator is Ron Haddrick except for the Norman Lindsay poetry reading, where Simon Townsend gives a lengthy introduction to his reading.
There is also some musical content, particularly the outro's (nice traditional Australian music such as didgeridoo playing or folk banjo picking) but this content is not credited
Bio information incorrectly refers to Dorethea (Dorothea) MacKellar
Credit incorrect for Sir Robert Helpman (Helpmann)
There is no photograph of Ronald McCuaig
There is a photograph of Peter Allen, credited under the photograph with "I Still Call Australia Home" but the spoken lyrics are NOT credited on the record label at all - this is actually track A13 on Record 1 Side 1.
