The young lady on the front/rear covers looks Indian, yes she is and her name is Sheila Chandra. Amazing eyes, amazing voice.
Monsoon is the band name and the members were:
Sheila Chandra - vocals
Steve Coe - (the driving force behind Monsoon) and he played Piano, Celeste, Swarmandel, Gong, Organ, Cabasso and did some backing vocals
Martin Smith - Bass guitar, Accordian, Tamboura, Piano, Sitar, Tabla, Ektara and like Steve, backing vocals
On this album there were also guest musicians:
Dinesh
Preston Heyman
Bill Nelson
Paul James
Cliff Stapleton
Richard & Norman Bragg
Dave Balfe
Dari Mankoo
The band (from UK) is experimenting with the fusion of Indian music and British rock. So this isn't some sort of weird sounding (to us Westerners) Indian music but a very good blending of two musical cultures. One track is in the Hindustani vein and that is why I have added this classification to this album - Hindustani is classical Indian music of Hindustani or North Indian style. Overall, Western rock/pop has won out with most of the songs sounding very Western but with smatterings of Indian instrumentation and oh, that wonderful ethereal voice of Sheila - stunning!
If you were wondering, all vocals are in English language!
If you love the idea of musical cultures flirting with each other (like The Beatles/George Harrison and Indian music way back when) then this album is pretty exciting.

Cover is in good condition, no tears, no writing but there is a small top edge seam split (small)
New inner plastic sleeve
Vinyl is in very good condition, inspected under a white halogen light source and I can see just a few light "scuff" marks on Side 1 but the remaining vinyl is fine. I then played both sides ENTIRELY (every single track) there are absolutely no issues with surface noise and just the occasional light click/pops.
Outer protective plastic sleeve
