Early Slim Dusty, backing by Dick Carr and His Buckaroos who as near as I can figure where something like a "house band" for EMI Australia

Dick Carr and His Buckaroos were prominent on a number of EMI recordings until the late 1950's

Columbia was the parent label but with the music industry domination of EMI during this period, it appears that Columbia was incorporated into the EMI (Australia) label around the late 1950's

Many of these songs were written/performed originally back in the 1950's e.g Losin' My Blues Tonight comes from 1953

Cat# OSX 7654 (actually I can find no reference to this particular catalogue release, only 330SX 7654 - this release could have been a stereo reissue (???) although it sounds mono) The matrix codes are identical to a NZ release but the label and rear cover definitely state Made In Australia.

Matrix codes (etched): XCTX 324.2, XCTX 325

Orange Columbia label

1962

Cover is in very good condition, no tears, no seam splits and very light edge wear from handling but there is a small area on the front (top left side) where a name can be faintly seen and there is low level graphic wear in this area when someone attempted to remove the name)

New inner plastic sleeve

Vinyl is in very good condition, visually inspected and I can only see a couple of light scratches/marks on each side but a visual inspection is not good enough so I then played the album ENTIRELY, every single track. There are no significant issues with surface noise or clicks/pops - this vinyl is in surprisingly good condition and sounds nice and clean on playback.

New outer protective sleeve

Tracks: The Showman's Song, Spending My Life In The Sun, I Must Have Good Terbaccy When I Smoke, Sweeney, Winter Winds, Whiplash, Down At Charley Gray's, Along The Road Of Song, Travellin' Through, Queensland State So Fair, Losin' My Blues Tonight (with Joy McKean accompanying Slim on vocals ... lots of yodelling!!! Ye Ha!!!), Sunny Northern Rose
