KISS - The Best Of The Solo Albums
Casablanca Records
Cat# NBLP 2
1978
Australian release
Cover is in good (minus) condition. While there are no tears, no seam splits nor significant edge-wear there is some creasing to the front and obvious graphic wear from constantly being inserted & removed from the vinyl record shelves.
Originally supplied with a sheet of six stickers and KISS logo's - these are NOT present, long gone!
New inner plastic sleeve
Vinyl is in good (minus) condition, visually inspected under a bright white halogen light source and I can see a number of scratches on each side of the album. The only way to truly judge the condition was to give the vinyl a good cleanup with the Monk and then play the ENTIRE album while listening critically ...
HERE IS WHAT I HEARD ...
Overall (both sides) I heard just very low level surface noise with the occasional click/pop - particularly on Side 1 across the first 3 tracks. The surface noises are not of a high level but you can hear them at times.
Of more concern is those scratches which have resulted from very poor tonearm handling ...
SIDE 1
Track 1: at 2:49 min/seconds in, I hear a dull 'bump" but no change in the music i.e no mistracking
Track 2: at 26 seconds in, I hear a definite "thump" and A MISTRACK - very short but noticeable! NO further 'events' heard on Side 1
SIDE 2
ALL tracks play fine, NO mis-tracking or "thumps". Surface noise level is low and not significant and just the occasional low level click/pop
Side 2 is in my opinion in much better condition than Side 1, particularly the opening 3 tracks from Paul
New outer protective sleeve
