Another great "oldie" compilation from the EMI stable, although this copy has not been treated with "great respect"!
IT HAS ISSUES! Please read below about these issues ...
BUMPER - Original Artists
EMI Records
Cat# SCA 004
STEREO
1976
Australian release
Cover is in good condition, no tears, no seam splits with only light edge wear from handling BUT an ID number has been written on the front cover, rear cover and Side A record label. Other writing was also present but this has been "whited out" on the rear cover and record label. Notice the blatant use of sex (woops, I lost my pants) that was so often used to market these compilations back in the day ... not so sure record labels would get away with this these days!
New inner plastic liner sleeve
Vinyl is in good (minus) condition, visually inspected under a white halogen light source, I can see a few very light scratches on either side but the surface LOOKS good. Just looking at the vinyl isn't a good way to judge the condition, so I then played the ENTIRE release, and then I heard a couple of issues.
Side A, tracks 1 & 3 there is a short mis-track in each song. Looking more closely at the vinyl, it looks like someone has dropped the tonearm heavily onto the vinyl in these areas. No other mis-tracking occurred on Side A and none on Side B
Overall the surface noise is slightly elevated from "normal" but not objectionable, along with the occasion low level short click or pop. Still a great play (depending upon your favourite music!) Thank goodness both AC/DC tracks play great! But there are other "gems" from the 1970's on there as well.
