Paul Hogan was well known in the 1970's for The Paul Hogan Show with his best mate, Strop (John Cornell) and later on the big screen with Crocodile Dundee but in the 1970's he was also a voice actor, this is one those gigs.
An interesting narration of the Peter and the wolf story, perhaps a bit too heavy on the Australian slang at times but entertaining and hopefully not so dull for the kids to follow the story.
Side B is again narrated by Paul Hogan, an excellent beginnings guide to the orchestra, it's components, what the various sections sound both alone and together and how the instruments are played ... although marketed as a young persons guide, this side of the record would be of interest to any age group that wants to learn just a little about what an orchestra is all about.

Cover is in good condition, no tears, very little edge wear from handling, no writing on the cover or labels, however there is a medium length seam split on the bottom edge. Includes the inner printed sheet promoting other children's albums from EMI
Vinyl is in good condition, inspected under a white halogen light I can see a few light scratches on each side and also leeching from the old plastic inner sleeve. I then played both sides completely and surface noise is slightly higher than "normal" but not excessive. Some low level clicks/pops at times but again not excessive. An enjoyable listen and instructive for anyone who wishes to learn how the various orchestral instruments are used throughout the story telling of Peter and the wolf. Paul Hogan narrates in his typical style with a light humorous touch to the narration, very Australian.
Tracks: Peter And The Wolf - Op. 67 (A Musical Tale For Children), The Young Person's Guide To The Orchestra - (Variations On A Theme Of Purcell, Op. 34)
