Perhaps Tim Hart doesn't 'ring a bell' but he was one of the founding members of Steeleye Span, the English folk music band at the peak of their success in the late 1960's ~ 1970's
Writing nursery rhymes was a project that Tim undertook in 1981, initially for his own children. Many of the 'Friends' on this album are other members of Steeleye Span, including the wonderful vocals of Maddy Prior on many tracks.
Tim became seriously ill and his label (Park Records) did reissue these nursery rhymes to help support Tim during his illness, this album though is an original not a reissue.
Tim passed away in 2009
While listening to this album it struck me that you don't hear these sort of nursery rhymes very often these days, 'Queens' ENGLISH accent without all the Americanisms! Nice change.
