JOHNNY CASH - This Is Johnny Cash
Music For Pleasure Records
Cat# MFP 5933
1972/73 (not indicated on the cover or record but the MFP catalogue numbers around this release are all dated in the period 1972 ~ 1973 with 1973 more likely)
Australian release (reissue of the 1969 original release)
Cover is in very good condition, light handling wear to the edges. No writing on the cover, no seam splits BUT a small area of graphic damage to the rear of the cover (centre/opening edge) where a retail seal was carelessly removed.
New inner plastic sleeve
Vinyl is in good condition, visually inspected under a white halogen light source and I can see no significant marks or scratches on either side. Just looking at a record is not a great way to judge the vinyl condition so I then played both sides of the album ENTIRELY. There are No problems at all with surface noise, nor clicks/pops on Side 1 but the opening track on Side 2 (Bad News - live performance) does have an annoying low level click, click, click event - a common problem when a previous user is careless when placing the tonearm down onto the vinyl. Fortunately these clicks don't last very long and slowly 'fade away' into eternity ... the remainder of Side 2 is a nice clean play, actually it was a really good (overall) playback of some classic Cash songs!
New outer protective sleeve
TRACKS: Nine Pound Hammer, Lorena, The Long Black Veil, When Papa Played The Dobro, I Still Miss Someone, Bad News - Live performance, The Streets Of Laredo, Don't Think Twice It's All Right, Frankie's Man - Johnny
One of my favourites from Johnny Cash, watch out if you "like the ladies" and are already in a relationship!
