Very early Kinks, original Australian release in "glorious" mono sound!
Ray Davies and the band always were controversial both because of their on stage antics and some of their lyrics, most well known is their song Lola some 5 years after this album. That song was banned from airplay in Australia due to the subject matter. These were the days when being gay, transexual was very much an "underground" thing and totally rejected by society in general.
The band was also banned from performing in USA for a period but that was more to do with their on stage antics
This was their 2nd album
Many of the songs are pop rock, but a bit of bluesy rock shows through, a good example is Naggin' Woman - a style very reminescent of Little Red Rooster from The Stones.
THIS DESCRIPTION RELATES TO THE 2ND COPY I HAVE OF THIS ALBUM

The cover is in good - very good condition, very clean but there is graphic ink wear to the front cover (the white patches) this looks to be from "rubbing" when in the record library. The rear has a very slight yellowish look instead of bright white. No issues with the seams or tears etc No writing on the cover
New inner plastic liner sleeve
Vinyl is in very good - excellent condition, inspected under a white halogen light source, I can see hardly any scratches or marks on each side. I then played both sides, surface noise is just a little higher than "normal" although I cannot see the reason. Perhaps a good clean or the vinyl used by Astor was not the cleanest but the surface noise really is not a significant issue and just the very occasional click/pop - a great play from the era of early British rock
New outer sleeve
