South Australia has been such a great "primeval ooze" of Australian musical talent across many genre's including folk, bluegrass, pop and rock
Graham McCarthy comes from Adelaide but early in his musical career, along with his wife Lyn, they left the growing Adelaide folk scene and set their sights on the wider world, in 1963 setting off for folk club/cafe scene in Britain. They enjoyed considerable success while in UK and featured in numerous radio & television shows both in Britain and back here in Australia.
In 1970 they returned to Australia.
This album features many ballads that I can remember from childhood days, a real "blast from the past"
Musicians on this album are:
Rob McCarthy - Fiddle, Banjo, Autoharp, Mandolin & Guitar
Phil Cuneen - Bass, Flute & Guitar
Graham McCarthy - Guitar
Graham McCarthy - Best Loved Folk Songs

Late 1970's release (Although the year of release is not indicated anywhere, EMS Records had another catalogue release (different artist) just 2 numbers away back in 1978) so I suspect this was a release around 1978 ~ 1979
Cover is in very good condition, no tears, no seam splits, no writing but there is a small (light) liquid spill discolouration to the rear, lower edge. The front of this album has a gloss protection applied and this has crinkled a little but not too bad.
New inner plastic sleeve
Vinyl is in very good condition, visually inspected under a white halogen light source and I can only see a couple of very light scratches/marks on either side. I then played the ENTIRE album, every single track, and there are no issues with surface noise or click/pops - nice blast from the folk world past.
New outer protective sleeve
Tracks: Botany Bay, The Riddle Song, Black-eyed Susie, Barbara Allen, Old Paint, Jimmy Crack Corn, The Gypsy Rover, The Streets Of Laredo, Skip To My Lou, Scarlet Ribbons, On Top Of Old Smokey, The Water Is Wide
