Oh my, while sorting through yet more of my old record collection I came across this gem which I thought had been lost somewhere.
This is classic VERY EARLY (mid to late 1960's) Lou Reed, from his days with The Primitives, The Roughnecks and The Beachnuts plus side B is all about the early years of The Velvet Underground. Not just music either, a very interesting (if somewhat weird) conversation back in 1966 with Ingrid Superstar, discussing an Andy Warhol book. Thats the last track on Side A. The last track on Side B is also "non-musical" - just people gossiping, one of Lou Reeds many experiments in music.
This is an Australian creation, a bootleg (unofficial release) compiled from various sources
Unfortunately (oh so sad) the cover with the masses of information on the rear, was destroyed by a storm many years ago but the vinyl remains, and it is in very good shape!
It has been kept safely in our storage units, nice and dry and with new inner and outer sleeves to maintain it's condition over the years.
Even without the cover this vinyl album is an absolute gem for those who are "into" Lou Reed during his formative years.
The Velvet Underground - etc.

Cat# FIRST-1
Runout matrix codes (etched): FIRST-1-A FH 14/9, FIRST-1-B FH 14/9
1981 - originally released in 1979 but this is the 1981 reissue
Mono recording
Australian bootleg release
Generic black cover is in good condition, medium edge wear due to a lot of handling, small spine seam split, clean, no tears, no writing anywhere on the cover. This is NOT the original cover, that was destroyed some time ago and the vinyl then kept in a plain generic black cover.
White numbers on black background labels often referred to as the "numbers labels" I have no idea if the numbers mean anything, starting from the label outer, the numbers are arranged in "rings" around the label with the sequence (OUTER EDGE) 3 2 4 0 4 8 6 0 6 4 8 0 9 6 1 1 2 1 2 8 (INNER RUNOUT AREA)
There is no information (credits, track list etc) on the record labels - just lots of numbers!
New inner plastic sleeve
Vinyl is in good - very good condition, inspected under a white halogen light source and I can see just a few very light scratches on each side, I then played the entire record on both sides and there is no signifcant issues with surface noise or click/pops - a very good (and interesting) play!
New outer protective sleeve
Source material for this Australian bootleg were:
The Beachnuts - 1965
The Primitives (45) - 1964
The Rougnecks - 1965
Index flexi - 1966
The Velvet Underground songs on Side B are all rough mix demos - 1969
The East Village Other (LP) - 1966
TRACKS:
SIDE 1
Cycle Annie - The Beachnuts (1964), The Ostrich - The Primitives (1964), Sneaky Pete (was the B side of The Ostrich single, You're Driving Me Insane - The Roughnecks (1965)
The last track is some of the Factory regulars discussing and reacting to Andy Warhol's "Index" publication 'for the rest of the world', the background music playing is "I'm Waiting For The Man" - Velvet Underground. Ingrid Superstar is a significant part of the conversation, sounding rather "strange and dreamy" as she adds her comments in the conversation with a couple of males (unidentified). They discuss the publication contents with references to a womans leg visual artwork, presumably the Shoe And Leg art that Warhol created in the mid 1950's and also to the photograph Nude Restaurant (Andy Warhol film by the same name released in 1967)
SIDE 2
Foggy Notion - The Velvet Underground (1969), Temptation Inside Your Heart - The Velvet Underground (1968), I'm Sticking With You - The Velvet Underground (1969), Ferryboat Bill - The Velvet Underground (1969), Gossip - Gerard Malanga & Ingrid Superstar (1966)
