Carefully removed from a vintage Yamaha YP40 Electric Piano/Clavinova (76 Key)
These keys are used in a number of 1980's Yamaha keyboards and models such as the YP-40 that have no keyboard cover are prone to key damage at the front of the key when someone carelessly handles the instrument. This usually affects the white keys but sometimes the black keys if someone has dropped a heavy object on the keyboard!
Known to be an original component used in these models from Yamaha

YAMAHA YP-40 Clavinova Electric Piano SPARE PART
Note A KEY
Every A key is identical to every other A key - it does not matter which octave the key is used in.
Please look at the key(s) you are replacing, take note of the note designation stamped onto the rear top of the key carefully before purchasing a replacement key.
To assist identification of the correct key, I have placed a green dot onto the photograph of the key(s)
One A key in the photograph does not have a green dot, that key was damaged and is not being offered.
Original Yamaha component (used)
This key has been carefully inspected and cleaned.
The key is WHITE and has not changed colour to cream or even yellow due to sunlight.
I am offering the complete key:
Weight remains fitted
Rear pivot in place, old grease has not been removed (clean and not sticky) - it is always a good idea to re-grease a replacement key prior to fitting.
The Yamaha grease designed for use with these keys is part #V6274301 and be warned, this grease can be difficult to find.
Leaf spring is supplied (not bent!)
NOTE: A common trick by "backyard" repairers is to bend the spring to increase the tension and repair sticking keys. Never bend the springs, always find out why the key is sticking - remove the key completely and inspect the key and keyboard bed. Sometimes objects drop down between the keys but more likely it just needs a good clean (non-chemical based such as a mix of water and white vinegar) and check the smooth operation of the rear pivot (removeable) - re-grease if required.
The key is supplied sealed in plastic to protect the whole key from the arch enemy, dust and dirt. It is also stored in non-direct light to prevent any discolouration of the plastic key.
