Australian (Brisbane) band, fronted by Shane Nicholson who is a very accomplished song writer, musician, singer and producer.
The band life as "Freak" then changed their name to Pretty Violet Stain, shortly after this album was release the band broke up.
SPECIAL NOTES:
In my previous business (audio post production) we received many demo's, advance releases and "studio only" copies of music
This is an advance copy from the label, Warner Music Australia
The media used is a CDr, it is not usually commercially viable to undertake a "pressing run" (usually minimum 500 copies) and perhaps time was a constraint as well.
The track order is also different to the commercial release (8573839312) and there is a manufacturing "glitch" ... please read below
Pretty Violet Stain - Parachutes & Gravity
Warner Music Australia
Cat# No catalogue number issued ADVANCE COPY
2000
Standard CD case and front cover are in very good condition. There is NO rear insert (never was never will be!) The CDr face has been thermal printed (probably a Rimage printer)
CDr media is in excellent condition BUT there is a manufacturing error. Track 7 on this advance release has two very short bursts of digital noise (white noise). This is NOT a media defect/reading issue but sounds exactly like a datastream glitch that occurs sometimes when transferring off DAT media onto CD media. There are two bursts, each of very short duration (around 0.5 seconds) and ONLY on track 7 (Red Letter Day). The remaining tracks all play absolutely fine.
Track order on this advance copy is different to the commercial copy i.e Turning Into Something is track 3 not track 7.
Tracks: Talk, Me & My Big Mouth, Turning Into Something, 6 Degrees Stay Away, Selfish, Never Come Down, Red Letter Day, Mother And Earth, Achilles Heel, Minus Zero, The Biggest Letdown, Letter From London, Short Fuse
