Beautiful, relaxing instrumental duo
Riley plays the Shakuhachi (Chinese/Japanese end blown flute) and Geoff the Electric guitar
Riley Lee is USA born and attained recognition of his Shakuhachi playing skills, being awarded the rank of Dai Shihan (grand master). He moved to Sydney and took up a PhD fellowship at Sydney University.
Geoff is all about the "Arts", studying classical piano and guitar but also sculpture and painting. A number of his artworks can be seen online from time to time. At the time of this recording, some 30 years ago, Geoff was working as a painter.
This album is the first experimental collaboration between these two very talented artists, an inspiration of Tony Lewis, who I believe is also a well known British/NZ Australian painter/artist, last known whereabouts seem to be up in Queensland.
The cover art on this release is a painting by Australian artist, Tony Smibert
This album was recorded at Loft Studios, Sydney
