The band formed in Dunedin, South Island NZ during the 1970's but at the time of this release they were based in Australia
This was their last album before disbanding in 1984
I cannot find any reference to this cassette release at the "usual places" (discogs etc), only the vinyl L-37775 from Festival
This album on tape media is very hard to find
Mother Goose - This Is The Life
Parole - Festival Records (NZ)
Cat# C 37775
Recorded using Dolby B
If your playback machine does not have Dolby capability, just turn down the treble response a little to compensate
1982
Australian release
Clam shell is in very good condition, this is a screwed clam shell so if ever there was a need to re-lubricate or change the pad, it is possible (if somewhat fiddly). Card insert is in very good condition.
Test cassette machine: Nakamichi DR8
Prior to testing, tape was repacked (FF - RW - FF - RW) to ensure even tape loading. This is vital for cassette tapes that have been unplayed for considerable periods of time.
Tape media is in very good visual condition, but the only real way to judge the condition of magnetic tape media is to actually play it, so I have played both sides of this tape.
Audio is full range and bright, full high end and lows. Sounds great. No drop outs. No tape sticking or other transport issues which could indicate dried out lubricant. Head pad is in place and secure.
Tracks: Tonight, Marqueritta And Me, Lonely Girls, The Girl Across The Street, I Wish I Believed In God, This Is The Life, I Love You So, Living In A Small Town, Welcome To Radio, Fly By Night
