The Smiths - Meat Is Murder
Rough Trade Records
Cat# RTCANZ 010
1985
Australian release
Clam shell is in very good condition, this is a screwed clam shell so if ever there was a need to re-lubricate or change the pad, it is possible (if somewhat fiddly). Card insert is in very good condition.
Test cassette machine: Nakamichi DR8
Prior to testing, tape was repacked (FF - RW - FF - RW) to ensure even tape loading. This is vital for cassette tapes that have been unplayed for considerable periods of time.
Tape media is in very good visual condition, but the only real way to judge the condition of magnetic tape media is to actually play it, so I have played both sides of this tape.
Audio is full range and bright, full high end and lows. Sounds great. No drop outs. No tape sticking or other transport issues which could indicate dried out lubricant. Head pad is in place and secure.
Tracks: The Headmaster Ritual, Rusholme Ruffians, I Want The One I Can't Have, What He Said, The Joke Isn't Funny Anymore (misprinted, should be That Joke Isn't Funny Anymore), How Soon Is Now?, Nowhere Fast, Well I Wonder, Barbarism Begins At Home, Meat Is Murder
