Gen X - Kiss Me Deadly
Chrysalis Records
Cat# C 37541
1981
Australian release
Clam shell is in very good condition, this is a screwed clam shell so if ever there was a need to re-lubricate or change the pad, it is possible (if somewhat fiddly). Card insert is in good condition but with light crinkling to the rear of the slip cover.
Test cassette machine: Nakamichi DR8
Prior to testing, tape was repacked (FF - RW - FF - RW) to ensure even tape loading. This is vital for cassette tapes that have been unplayed for considerable periods of time.
Tape media is in very good visual condition, but the only real way to judge the condition of magnetic tape media is to actually play it, so I have played both sides of this tape.
Audio is full range and bright, good high end and lows. I don't have any test equipment around these days but if anything, I "feel" the top end is a bit lower than normal. Still sounds great, just not as bright as I would expect. No drop outs. No tape sticking or other transport issues which could indicate dried out lubricant. Head pad is in place and secure.
Nice early recording from lead singer Billy Idol
Tracks: Dancing With Myself, Untouchables, Happy People, Heavens Inside, Triumph, Revenge, Stars Look Down, What Do You Want, Poison, Oh Mother
