Cassette tape packaging (white clamshell) is in very good condition, clean and undamaged clamshell. Inner foldout front cover insert is in good condition.
Before playing I repacked the tape, and visually inspected carefully the clamshell, rollers and head pressure pad - no issues with the shell or tape at all
This is a plastic weld type of clamshell so if ever it was required to "get inside" to relube etc..., the best of luck to you! Past experience has taught me that these plastic welded clamshell are practically impossible to open without destroying the whole cassette - best to leave them alone and keep out of direct sunlight in a cool, low humidity environment!.
I have then played this tape ENTIRELY, MOST OF THE TIME I hear beautiful crisp clean sound (plenty of highs and lows with great dynamic range) but at times I had the impression the high end dropped off just a little (tape twist?) but nothing terrible. I did stop the tape a few times to check the tape condition and nothing obvious seen. I also wondered about the source material as many of these songs are so very 1970's and may not have been the greatest to begin with (many are live recordings) Interesting opening track Side A track 1 with a discussion between an MC and the various band members (introductions) followed by many classic songs from the band. Side A tends to be their early days and Side B the more classic (and well known Tommy (the musical) music)
Tracks: My Generation, I Can't Explain, Happy Jack, I Can See For Miles, Magic Bus, Long Live Rock, Anyway Anyhow Anywhere, Young Man (Blues), My Wife, Baba O'Reilly, A Quick One, Tommy Can You Hear Me?, Sparks, Pinball Wizard, See Me Feel Me, MEDLEY: Join Together - Road Runner - My Generation Blues, Won't Get Fooled Again
