An oldie but a goodie
Due to the fact this cassette tape is almost 50 years old, I have described it's condition in some detail below
Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin II
Atlantic Records
Cat# M5 8236
1973
Australian release
Clamshell is in very good condition, this is a screwed clamshell so there is a chance of properly re-lubricating if this ever became necessary.
Clamshell is white although it now has slight tinges of yellow.
All graphics are directly pad printed onto the clamshell
Card insert is in good condition (not damaged) although it does have a previous owners initials printed on it (and also the clamshell Side 1)
Small crack to the case front
Test cassette machine: Nakamichi DR8
Prior to testing, tape was repacked (FF - RW - FF - RW) to ensure even tape loading. This is vital for cassette tapes that have been unplayed for considerable periods of time.
Tape media is in very good visual condition.
Guides/rollers and front pressure pad all look to be fine.
The only real way to judge the condition of magnetic tape media is to actually play it, so I have played both sides of this tape.
Audio is full range and bright most of the time, plenty of high end and lows. No drop outs. No tape sticking or other transport issues which could indicate dried out lubricant. Great sound great music - turn it up loud!
On Side A: The Lemon Song - I heard some drop off of the highs at times, examining the tape showed up nothing - just a bit muffled at times during this track
I had no other issues listening to the remaining tracks on either side
Tracks: Whole Lotta Love, What Is And Should Never Be, The Lemon Song, Thank You, Heartbreaker, Living Loving Maid, Ramble On, Moby Dick, Bring It On Home
Overall, if played on a decent cassette playback machine (a pro machine such as a Studer or Tascam or a Nakamichi) this cassette sounds pretty damn good
