Yellowing of the plastic seal due to sunlight & time, I also think he used to use household cleaners to keep this looking fresh - not a great idea with clear plastic!
To try and prevent any further deterioration of the clear plastic colouring, this collectible pin packet has now been placed within another sealed clear plastic packet and sits in the dark! A bit like being in space ....
