We can tell you that this lace work came from Nottingham, the design is also from Nottingham back in 1998
Now Nottingham is famous for its lace products (The Lace Market), going back in time a long long way BUT in modern times the term "Nottingham lace" is used pretty loosely
The lace art we are offering is NOT handmade but machine made, it is of a reasonably high quality though.
The design (which is marked Copyright - Hayler 1998) is actually a design by Alan G Hayler - he was secretary at the Jacquard Lace Design Company back in 1998. That company has since been dissolved HOWEVER Mr Hayler now shows in public records as being at the same address as the company The Scenic Lace Company ( 6 Pennie Close Long Eaton Nottingham) - the producer of this Robin Hood lace artwork.
We are giving this information so there are no misunderstandings about this piece of lace artwork - it was designed commercially back in 1998 and has been produced by machine, probably in the late 90's and then presented in a well made wooden (not plastic!) frame.
There is some basic paperwork on the rear of the frame but it doesn't provide much information about the lace work so we did some research ourselves, particularly about the designer, Mr Hayler.
Lace work is in excellent condition, behind glass
The frame and protective glass are both unscratched or damaged
How large is this wall hanging lace work souvenir?
Actual lace artwork size is 300mm x 300mm
The full frame size is 505mm x 505mm square - wooden, brown/red stain giving a 'mahogany like' appearance.
Complete with the nylon hanging line - ready to go!
The hanging weight is 2Kg so make sure your wall anchors are able to support this weight
The frame is simple but effective, it used to look great up on the wall in my wife's sewing room ... she doesn't sew any more so this lace work needs to find a new sewing room.
