NOSTALGIC HISTORY:
Many baby boomers would have been bought up on the Famous Five stories from Enid Blyton. Even in contemporary times, the Famous Five are widely read by children.
The first Famous Five stories were written in a time of war, 1942 and of course based in England. During the school holidays the children would have 'adventures' as told in the many books Enid Blyton wrote. This story is much later, first published in 1962.
I remember well, back in the 1970's, sitting in a corner to have a good read about the adventures of the Famous Five, television was discouraged (with a ROUND screen and in black/white only) no smartphones, no computers - books took us to another world and prodded the imagination.
Most of my library are music industry related books but I bought this copy of the Famous Five purely for nostalgic reasons sometime in the 1980's from a bookseller (price inside the front cover $20 at the time!)

COSMETIC CONDITION:
(I am NOT a book collector nor a commercial reseller so my description is the most truthful and honest I can muster!)
Condition is overall very good
Spine is sound, no signs of the stitching failing (I think it is stitching anyway)
Outer coloured dust cover is in good condition but some wear shows to the edges from handling but no substantial tearing.
NO discolouration or marks to the dust cover at all
NO missing pages, I carefully flipped through the book and I can find no page missing
NO discolouration to the pages, still quite white and not showing signs of foxing.
NO writing on the dust cover or the internal pages EXCEPT
The bookseller I got this copy from had written in pencil 4 numbers (2938) then $20 and SHG - these pencil writings are on the 2nd inside page.
I have made no attempt to remove these pencil markings
I am seeking a new home for this book as it is extremely unlikely I will be reading it again, I have sealed it within cellowrap (not sticky!) to maintain the condition and keep out the dust.
