Attractive set of six teaspoons
Purchased by us in the 1980's
Stainless steel handle & bowl
Central decorative piece at the top of the spoon is a small hand-painted Porcelain piece, design of the artwork is a single rose bud with foliage
The six teaspoons have 3 different designs of the same theme and no artwork is the same as any other spoon (understandable as these are handcrafted)
Length: 130mm
Weight: 25g each teaspoon
Presumed to be completely made in Japan. Why? because during cleaning one of the small porcelain "buttons" fell off and underneath it says
JAPAN
The rear of the spoon only has this stamp (no makers name)
STAINLESS STEEL
COSMETIC CONDITION:
These were used by us a number of times and although very clean, if you look closely you can see signs of previous use. In particular, the bowl area underneath. This use shows up as very very light discolouration in patches - its not unsightly but can be seen if looked at very closely.
No scratching or other physical damage.
The porcelain "button" which came off has been re-secured, all others are completely sound.
The hand painted "button" has been glazed
We know these "buttons" are porcelain, that's why we bought them, but just to "double check" I have done the "red hot pin" test - it is absolutely impossible to push the pin into the button, it is NOT plastic (unlike many souvenir teaspoons)
NO BOXES
We no longer have the boxes for these teaspoons so I have now placed all of them within sealed plastic to preserve the current condition.
