UNIDENTIFIED GENERIC - RF "Rubber Duckie"
I cannot recall which equipment used this antenna so let's just say ...
Country of origin unknown
Antenna for professional wireless system - the system type escapes me now (it was a LONG time ago!) but it would have been a belt pack most likely.
Flexible top section (rubber duckie style) which can easily move through 90 degrees and returns to straight when not under a force.
Standard 3 pin XLR female plug
Only one pin is active, the remaining two are "dummies"
Pin 2 (hot) is the antenna active pin
I have looked this antenna over completely, inside and out, and cannot identify the manufacturer at all
DIMENSIONS: 17.9mm OD near the XLR connector x 75mm rubber duckie length
WEIGHT: 18g
SPECIAL NOTE: This antenna is designed so that you can get inside! The flexible top rubber duckie section "unplugs" from the base, revealing .... wait for it ... a length of helical wound wire, as you would expect.
Now I am not sure what frequency this was originally wound for but because this top section comes off, you can either cut down the helical to a frequency you require or even completely replace with your own custom wound antenna (a grid dip would be handy here) because the internal connection is soldered and reasonably accessible with a fine tip iron. Flexibility plus!
The current helical windings are 4.25mm OD x 75mm length with tight windings using ordinary enamelled wire.
COSMETIC CONDITION:
USED
Clean
NO physical damage to any of the rubber body or the existing internal helical antenna
I have now packed this antenna into a sealed clear plastic packet, while it awaits a new purpose in life!
