(HANG IT ON THE WALL - USE IT AS A PLATE - USE IT AS A FRISBEE!)

WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT PLAY IT!

PLAY AT YOUR OWN RISK - IT'S A BUMPY RIDE!

This vinyl picture record has quite a warp (probably due to it being left in the sun!) and is NOT playable, sure you can actually play sections of the disc (towards the centre and away from the "wave") but really ... this record has ceased to be, it is a round disc of vinyl with a pretty picture on each side and nothing more really

Sustainability:

To many folk this record would go out in the street side collection or the rubbish bin but I am big on reusing or repurposing as much as I can or finding someone else who can make use of these items.

Sustainability is far more than not burying waste material back into the earth but consciously recognising the energy that was expended to create this record, through it's various stages of life from the plastic creation, the record creation process and even the energy expended getting the finished product from the factory to the distribution centre and onwards to the retailers. Every single step used a little energy, sometimes a LOT of energy e.g the production of Aluminium products.

HERE is a page I have created which gives some tables and more detailed information about specific Ee values for different materials plus a link which you can use as a starting point to investigate Ee for yourself.

In addition to being a warped record (see more details below about this), it is an unofficial release - Yes siree, it's a bootleg. Even if you are not a NKOTB fan, some folks just collect bootlegs. The label (Baktabak) was a prolific England based producer of such bootleg picture discs ...

English release

Simple cover is in good condition, no seam splits, clean and edges have only light handling wear, no personal writing. The picture disc looks "pretty" and is clean and unscratched on both sides.

New inner plastic sleeve

Vinyl is in poor condition, meaning that when I visually inspected the surface under a bright White halogen light source I can see just a light scratch or mark here and there BUT the major problem is the warp!

The vinyl does not sit flat on the platter, At the highest point of the record, it rises 10mm above the platter in a gentle long wave - think of a long gentle hill, not a mountain! This means the tonearm plays fine, rises up in relation to the platter (still playing fine) but then comes back down on the other side of the hill and this is where the tonearm loses all direction and drops with a signficant thump onto the vinyl. So you hear the boys talking and with each revolution of the record, a THUMP and then they go on talking again - most of the time the tonearm even stayed in the same groove but sometimes it jumped, the "other side" plays better as the warp is shaped differently but still the issue persists... In summary, the vinyl is shot ... kaput ... unless you wish to attempt trying one of the "vinyl flattening techniques" (basically heating your vinyl at VERY LOW temperature between two sheets of glass - a pretty risky experiment.

Keep in mind (if attempting to play the vinyl) that not only does it not sound good (band member talks and then it sounds just like he has fallen to the floor, hitting the microphone on the way down!), you do risk damaging your precious tone arm head cartridge as it will not appreciate all that thumping around!
