BACKGROUND INFORMATION
THE EH-1000
After years of use and then storage once the analog Teletext television system was turned off yonks ago, I have finally gotten around to placing this professional, very well built equipment onto the workshop bench ... the "operation" has been undertaken and this would have to be the last item salvaged from the sacrificial EH-1000
The EH-1000 was fully functioning but of no possible further use in our digital television (with no teletext broadcasts) era so now I have extracted components, modules "of interest" and some hardware which could be used to restore another EH-1000
I have extracted quite a few bits and pieces and if you wish to see them all in "EH-1000 meeting" click on the link HERE
THE DONOR EQUIPMENT
UNAOHM - Teletext Video RF Analyser
Model: EH-1000
Designed & manufactured in Milano, ITALY
Circa late 1980's (based on advertisements placed in Wireless World at the time and the date stamp on the AC transformer core)
Technology: Analog video broadcast signal analysis - specifically for examining lines of Teletext information "riding along" with the video signal
Luggable (heavy at 15kg) due to the heavy duty Aluminium outer case but more importantly, the inside welded steel frame chassis inside.
Well engineered inside, logically laid out using a number of modules which are well interconnected.
Designed for 220V 50Hz operation (because of this, we used this equipment via an AC variac many years ago)
Green emitting rectangular CRT based front panel display

Enough of the yacker, let's get down to describing/showing you these salvaged front panel items ...
FRONT PANEL CRT BEZEL AND MORE ....
Probably best to look closely at the photographs, these are the only items I am offering and note that I did not retain any of the mounting screws in this case.
In a nutshell I am offering ...
Light Blue-Grey silk screen printed Aluminium front panel
UNAOHM Aluminium equipment identification tag (sits above the CRT bezel)
CRT dark Grey plastic bezel
CRT front clear 2mm thick perspex cover with vertical scale print
Red perspex filter (U shaped) which sits in front of the two digit seven segment LED's (Channel display)
COSMETIC CONDITION OF EACH PIECE
Light Blue-Grey silk screen printed Aluminium front panel
CLEAN
NO bends!
All labelling is unworn and easy to read (printed in White)
NO surface scratching to the panel
On the downside, I did notice some "spotting" (areas of dull paint surrounded by gloss finish paint) which I could not remove easily - I did not want to be over-enthusiastic in case I damaged the lettering. In most lighting you can barely see these "marks" unless held to a light at a certain angle.
UNAOHM Aluminium equipment identification name tag (sits above the CRT bezel)
CLEAN
Not bent!
Clean on the rear, due to this name tag being screwed down at the top of the CRT bezel so there is no glue residue on the rear of this name plate
All lettering is clear and easy to read - no wear apparent
CRT dark Grey plastic bezel
CLEAN
NO damage of any kind i.e cracks or corner damage
CRT front clear 2mm thick perspex cover with vertical scale print
CLEAN
NO significant scratching - light "rub marks" from previous cleaning from time to time
ALL screen printed Red text and graphics are unworn and easy to read
Red perspex filter (U shaped) which sits in front of the two digit seven segment LED's (Channel display)
CLEAN
NO cracking or other damage
NO significant scratching or marks
Each item has now been individually sealed in plastic and then laid on a strong, stiff card sheet ready to come to the rescue of another EH-1000!
