Proxy Security Applicance

Model 510 - 5 - PR

Fitted with 2x 80Gb hard drives

OS is installed - system reports it as Version 5.3.3.1

Designed to provide small enterprises and remote offices a 1U rack mount proxy appliance with secure remote administration features.

The 510 series is purpose-built, providing flexible control with high-end performance with up to 2GB of memory and 600GB of disk capacity.

Utilizing a custom, object-based OS with integrated caching for performance, organizations can advise, coach, enforce granular policies down to individual users.

Patented MACH5 acceleration technology combines five different capabilities onto one box. Together they optimize application performance and help ensure delivery of critical applications.

The Security architecture addresses a wide range of requirements, including filtering web content, preventing spyware and other malicious mobile code, scanning for viruses, inspecting encrypted SSL traffic, and controlling IM, VoIP, P2P, and streaming traffic.

COSMETIC CONDITION:

Excellent - no dings, or significant scratches

Both hard drive slots are occupied, 2x 80Gb currently

No rack rails are included though

TESTING:

First up - power on

Looks fine and after going through the lengthy boot sequence, all leds are green

Front panel control is available - for console port setup/access and also to setup IP/DNS etc

I went into the console port (straight D9 set to the standard 9600) and all is good - it talks to me and I can talk to it - no password is currently set.

It actually looks as though the machine has been factory reset already

OS is reported as 5.3.3.1 ID 39156

The casing also has a sticker on it giving the SGOS serial number

Here is a copy of the screen dump (I use a seperate serial terminal to access the machine so this is a cut/paste of the screen)

Management console started

At this point I did not continue - I did not want to start setting up a full working system based on my own IP/DNS etc so I did nothing further in the configuration.

I just wanted to make sure that the system boots up from the OS and that I have access to the system via the console at least.

This is a nice applicance and it looks ready to be pressed into service again
