COSMETIC CONDITION:
Clean and unscratched
LCD front panel display is undamaged and easy to read (grey characters on a white background)
TESTING:
We last used this printer quiet a while ago and just put it away in the cupboard.
Rechecked today after being away in the cupboard, results of testing are shown below
The device report shows the only consumable needing replacement "soon" will be the toner - it is getting low but still around 25% percent left (the toner warning indicator does NOT light up yet)
We noticed one issue with the printouts now, there are 3 horizontal dark lines across each printed page. These lines are always in the same place and only 3 of them.
Talking to Lexmark support, they indicate it is likely the toner unit will be the problem, possibly the toner has "settled unevenly" after being put away for a length of time unused. We tried shaking the toner cartridge, this didn't seem to help.
Replacement toner cartridges are currently available online for around A$60 (compatibles not original Lexmark)
But quite frankly, for quick non-critical printing these 3 lines are not a big issue and if we were using it again (we have gone all WiFi now for our printing) then it is sensible to just run the printer until the toner is exhausted and then when it is replaced, the 3 lines SHOULD disappear.
No feeding issues at all, nice quiet running of media through the paper path
