ALERT! THIS VINYL HAS AN ISSUE!
CAT STEVENS - Tea For The Tillerman
Island Records
Cat# L 34028
1977 (Reissue of the 1970 original release)
Australian release
Cover is in good condition, no seam splits, no personal writing but the cover (overall) has a slightly "grubby" look and some light spotting, made more obvious due to the light Yellow background colouring used.
New inner plastic lined sleeve
The vinyl is in good (minus) condition, visually inspected under a bright White halogen light source and on Side 1 a number of light~medium short scratches, particularly around the first two tracks (poor handling of the tonearm when playing the record previously) Side 2 is in much better condition. Just looking at the vinyl is not a great way to judge the condition so I played this ENTIRE release, every single track on each side, and overall the surface noise level is acceptable BUT there are a number of clicks/pops in some areas AND a dreaded mistrack ... here are the details of what I heard
Side 1
Track 1: MISTRACK short but not sweet! "Where will the children xxxx" the word play gets obliterated and thats all that happens, no further mistracking. Occasional low level click or pop, sometimes these persist for a few revolutions but nothing too dramatic!
The remaining play on Side 1 is good
Side 2:
Again some increased surface noise and the occasional short click or pop but these are prevalent on the opening and second track only.
The remaining play on Side 2 is good
New outer protective sleeve
TRACKS: Where Do The Children Go?, Hard Headed Woman, Wild World, Sad Lisa, Miles From Nowhere, But I Might Die Tonight, Longer Boats, Into White, On The Road To Find Out, Father And Son, Tea For The Tillerman
