HISTORY:
My "world" is 'the arts' and more specifically, music, artwork and hand crafted/decorated chinaware's.
I am not a film enthusiast but an associate has asked me to find new owners for THEIR large collection of photographic and film items ... this is one of those items.
While the world of 8mm/Super 8mm is not my area of expertise, I am doing my best to establish the condition of each item that I am listing.
I tend to be quite detailed in my item descriptions, please READ all the details to decide if this item may interest you.
Now, on with the description ...

Title: The Queen's Silver Jubilee (London Celebrations)
Catalogue # A.864
Released 1977
5" 200' unbranded (stamped MADE IN ITALY) Black plastic reel
Content description
As the title suggests, it's 1977 and Jubilee party time in London! Interesting from a historical perspective, seeing many of the Royal Family who have now passed on, a very young Prince Charles (King Charles), the pomp and pagentry with old customs on display such as the lighting the "bonfires" right across England so that from above, England "lit up" - apparently this ritual was used by the English to warn of approaching Spanish armada's in much earlier days. The things you learn!
COSMETIC CONDITION:
USED
CLEAN
Film stock and reel are undamaged, no leader is fitted - just a short time of "Black" and then the feature is running. The film source appears to be Movietonews.
Outer cardboard slip case is in reasonable condition, there is the remains of an old price sticker on the front - I have not tried to remove this as it would probably damage the graphics.
No odours noticed when I gave the film the "sniff test" - just that old musty smell.
I have given the case (inside and out) a "sterilisation spray", I always do this with "old" items - no spray has been applied to the reel of course!
NO personal names or other writing on the case or label
TESTING:
Test projector is the ELMO 1200 that I have on hand at the moment.
Film looks to be clean and in good condition, sprocket holes are not damaged.
I only ran the film for the first couple of minutes or so to observe the colour and sound.
The colour has definitely shifted towards the Red end of town although I can still see Greens (the Queen's dress) but Blues seem to be AWOL.
Sound is good, very "proper English" narration - good level and not muffled
In my opinion, after this very brief test, I am happy that the film is as stated on the box and looks to be in reasonable "technical" condition.
Anyway, I am very fastidious and careful with these films and I have now packed it back into the original cardboard box AND sealed the film within clear plastic - waiting for a Super 8 film buff with a "lean" towards interest in historical events, to enjoy!
