HISTORY:
My "world" is 'the arts' and more specifically, music, artwork and hand crafted/decorated chinaware's.
I am not a film enthusiast but an associate has asked me to find new owners for THEIR large collection of photographic and film items ... this is one of those items.
While the world of 8mm/Super 8mm is not my area of expertise, I am doing my best to establish the condition of each item that I am listing.
I tend to be quite detailed in my item descriptions, please READ all the details to decide if this item may interest you.
Now, on with the description ...

COSMETIC CONDITION:
USED
CLEAN
Film stock and the reel are undamaged
The clear perspex plastic case top & bottom section do have some light scuff/scratch marks from handling & storage over the years and a short crack in the top section of the case has been noticed, however there are NO broken pieces.
This case is marked as a TUSCAN (Made In Australia)
NOTE: The owner has hand written "DONALD DUCK FESTIVAL" on the reel but this is not the title of this film, confirmed by viewing the film myself.
No unusual smells detected coming off the film i.e no vinegar or musty smells
NO personal names or other writing on the case or the film reels
TESTING:
Test projector is the ELMO 1200 that I have on hand at the moment.
Film looks to be clean and in good condition, sprocket holes are not damaged.
I ran the film for about 15 minutes to observe the colour and sound.
The colour has definitely shifted, but to where? Sometimes the Reds dominate, then it seems a bit too Yellow but at least I can easily see the Greens & Blues! So the dye's have decayed differently to some of the other films I have viewed recently. Still very watchable but the colours seem just a bit out of whack at times!
Sound (background music plus Donald speaking in "quack speak") is good, reasonably clear although lower in level comparted to other movies I have recently been viewing. No dropouts of the audio heard though.
In my opinion, after this quite a brief test, I am happy that the film is as stated on the reel and it looks to be in reasonable "technical" condition.
Anyway, I am very fastidious and careful with these films and I have now packed it back into the clear TUSCAN case AND sealed the case with clear plastic - waiting for a Super 8 cartoon film 'buff' to enjoy!
