Oh Dear! This item has been sold but take a look around for other similar items

HISTORY:

My "world" is 'the arts' and more specifically, music, artwork and hand crafted/decorated chinaware's.

I am not a film enthusiast but an associate has asked me to find new owners for THEIR large collection of photographic and film items ... this is one of those items.

While the world of 8mm/Super 8mm is not my area of expertise, I am doing my best to establish the condition of each item that I am listing.

I tend to be quite detailed in my item descriptions, please READ all the details to decide if this item may interest you.

Now, on with the description ...

IE INTERNATIONAL - Super 8 Film

Commercial release for the Home Movie market

Circa 1970's

Series: The World In Flames (History Of World War II)

Title: War In The African Desert (Red Arrows)

Catalogue # F22

I watched the first 5 minutes or so and the focus of this film is the British Red Arrows squadron and their well known aerial acrobatic abilities. Traces the history of this type of aircraft from back in WWI (here there is some genuine monochrome footage) until the "present day" Good for the British aircraft enthusiast.

Leader film is fitted

7" 400 feet Light Grey UNBRANDED reel

Full colour

Sound

Packaged in a pivot hinge style all plastic case, front being clear and the rear a pale Blue. Simple cardboard sleeve is used for the labelling. Additionally, the owner has stuck a label on one side of the case indicating it is about the Red Arrows

COSMETIC CONDITION:

USED

CLEAN

Film stock and the reel is completely undamaged, plain White leader fitted

The plastic case does have a few handling scuff marks/scratches but there are NO cracks or pieces missing!

Slight "vinegar" smell from the film, hmmm I am told this is not a great thing to smell in a film but let's see how it goes .... see test results below

NO personal names or other writing on the canister/case and the film reels

TESTING:

Tested with the ELMO ST 1200 I have available, and away we go ....

I have run around 5 minutes off the reel for testing

Leader is fitted

Colour film and the colour is pretty good too, quite realistic with not a lot of the "Red shift" as has been showing on some of the other films I have been testing. There is also some monochrome footage but this relates to the source material of aircraft flying in the early 20th century.

The audio presentation is very "documentary like" and the sound is good, crisp and clear so I had no trouble following what was going on.

I am very fastidious and careful with these Super 8 films and I have now packed the film package within sealed, clear plastic while it awaits a new owner

USED EXACTLY as described
