HISTORY:
My "world" is 'the arts' and more specifically, music, artwork and hand crafted/decorated chinaware's.
I am not a film enthusiast but an associate has asked me to find new owners for THEIR large collection of photographic and film items ... this is one of those items.
While the world of 8mm/Super 8mm is not my area of expertise, I am doing my best to establish the condition of each item that I am listing.

Content description
This is one film that has been etched in my mind from my younger days. Sci-Fi dealing with the use of robots making our lives easier in the future, in the case of WESTWORLD, the creation of a fantasy world for humans. Problem is when the robots take on their own nasty personalities, not good! Starring Yul Brunner as the robot who runs amuck.
Loads of "hi tech" equipment, men in White coats saying very technical things such as "Ready on phase 443" What a hoot!
COSMETIC CONDITION:
This description is applicable to BOTH films I have to offer ...
Very good
Film stock and reel are undamaged, leader is fitted and undamaged.
Outer case is a formed styrofoam with hinging on one side.
There is no damage to the case nor the outer clear plastic cover.
I did notice a "slight" smell of vinegar from the reels! I am no expert but have been told this is NOT a good sign. Possible damage to the film and I can only determine this once the film has been run through the projector ... my observations are described further down in this description (Testing)
I have given the case (inside and out) a "sterilisation spray", I always do this with "old" items.
NO personal names or other writing on the case or label
TESTING:
I have now setup the larger projector (EUMIG S934) and the screen, an old USA DA-LITE Flyer portable setup. Sound is built into the projector.
Leader films are undamaged ... the usual countdown at the beginning then on with the show
Film looks to be clean and in good condition, sprocket holes are not damaged.
I ran each film for the first 10 minutes or so to observe the colour and sound.
Once again, definite colour shift towards the Red end of the spectrum, just a hint of Greens and no Blues at all. This seems to be quite a common issue (I am told) but while the colour is not great, the movie is! No frame damage and there were no issues with the film correctly and without noise feeding through the film transport system. I checked this because of that vinegar smell I detected when first opening up the case.
Sound is great ... they all look so excited to be on their holiday adventure! This was certainly a SciFi movie which was quite a thought provoker at the time.
*** I can't help myself here ... I am so surprised that NONE of the reels I have examined so far have any ID markings on the reel itself. This must make it a nightmare if the reels are taken out of the boxes and get mixed up! In my world of pro audio, ALWAYS the reel was marked as to the contents to make identification easy. Imagine having a box full of CD's but with no face printing on them, what a nightmare!
Anyway, I am very fastidious and careful with these films and I have now packed the correct reel back into the original styro box AND sealed the film within clear plastic - waiting for a Super 8 film buff to enjoy!
