The Titan was a classic domestic film projector from the 1970's and parts can now be extremely difficult to find
I had a couple of Titan projector's, one was always kept on hand "for spares" but as it turned out, I never needed to salvage any parts and now that all my film projectors are "leaving home" it is time to find new homes for the spare parts.
Refer to the photograph included which shows the location of the part being offered.
These parts equally suit the Super 8 only projector or the Tri-matic projector - film only, no sound.
It is entirely possible that these parts will suit other Titan projectors, it is up to the buyer to establish if the parts I am offering will suit them.
TITAN 8mm Film Projector - SPARE PART ONLY
Made in Japan
Part: 8r26 (or 8n26) Motor with drive pulley and cooling fan
To ensure the part is not misidentified, it is shaded red in the photograph
Please view the photograph closely, assume nothing and those components showing are the ONLY components offered with this lot.
I have carefully desoldered the four wires, these projectors use a clear colour coding system for wiring so it is not difficult to establish which wire goes where when re-assembling the projector being repaired or restored.
CONDITION:
***BE AWARE***
The motor is NOT functioning correctly as supplied. The bearings are seized (extremely difficult to rotate the shaft)
BUT this motor could be repaired OR used for spare parts e.g the carbon brushes (good condition) the brush springs or the motor windings themselves.
The motor would not be difficult to de-construct but those bearings do look to be sealed units - it could be worth trying to lubricate them but this may not work.
Drive pulley is fine (comes with the fixing screws)
Plastic cooling fan is fine (also comes with the fixing screws)
If only part of the motor unit is required, I am happy to dismantle it (for example, the brushes or just the cooling fan) the cost is the same but the saving in shipping costs (due to the weight) would be substantial.
Supplied exactly as pictured.
This AC motor unit has been stored in a sealed plastic bag and this is how it will be supplied.
