HISTORY OF THIS ACCESSORY

My professional and private background is all about electronics, audio and 'The Arts' but NOT really photography or film! My photographs on this website will atest to that!

Over the years, I seem to have gathered together a bunch of strange camera's (some are odd looking) with assorted accessories such as battery chargers and AC adaptors and this lonely cartridge of film, which looks to have been developed.

I am not a film enthusiast and this cartridge is offered as-is (described to the best of my abilities)

I am not even sure anyone is interested in old 8mm film but I am very 'big' on sustainability and if this fits into someone's museum of film or even just as a 'test film' for that old Super8 projector in your museum or backroom then this would please me greatly.

PLEASE read the description completely and decide if this film may be of interest to you.

There are no returns or refunds offered, this is second hand and offered 'as-is"

DOMESTIC FILM CARTRIDGE - Probably developed

Measures 8mm wide - I believe this is called Super8

I cannot see any magnetic stripe down one side so I would assume this does NOT have sound recording capabilites

Cartridge diameter: 77mm OD

Film is inside a 'split shell' black plastic cartridge or reel type of device

NO name is stamped into this cartridge but it does have this information

C-600

MADE IN AUSTRALIA

COSMETIC CONDITION:

Both the cartridge halves and the film inside look very clean (no cobwebs etc!)

Looking inside, the film begins 'all white' with the words PROCESSED BY KODAK' in red running down the film

When I keep pulling out this white section of film (I think this is called the leader) after quite a length it changes to tiny little frames, clear film with dark colours (black/greys) in the frames so I guess this may mean the film is monochrome not colour.

The frames are extremely small and even with a light source and magnifying glass I could not make out the images in each frame, except to say there ARE images - it is not all black.

I am guessing (but don't really know) this is someone's home movie from the dim dark past

TESTING:

I really would have liked to have a look at this film but all I have in the world of film projectors these days in some spare parts and no fully operational projector

I am 95% confident that the film is in fine working condition, no damage seen to the side sprockets and it has been exposed but I just don't know what the images may be.

Like most old things, this cartridge could degrade over time due to the environment especially, so I have now sealed this cartridge in plastic to try and protect it from dust and contaminants and it is now placed in our constant temperature spare room, in the dark (no sunlight)
