Classic home movie projector from the '70's but it does need attention - see the details in the description below...
TITAN Super 8mm movie projector
NOTE: This model from TITAN does not have sound built-in - you will only be able to play as a silent movie projector.
Made in Japan
Circa late 70's - I did have a service done on this projector back in 1981 (a bolt broke) but then with videos, dvd's etc this projector was no longer used and its just been sitting in the wardrobe.
HOWEVER - I CAN CONFIRM THAT IT IS NOT WORKING, see the details below
I am a techie but I don't have the time to mess around with this equipment so this is for the collector for spare parts or restoration.
This is what I am offering:
The projector
Cover
If it is in the photograph (unless indicated otherwise) then it is included, if you cannot see something then it is not included e. g film
COSMETIC CONDITION:
It was dusty when I took it out of the wardrobe, I gave it a quick cleanup so I could at least see what was going on and it's now not too bad regarding cleanliness.
NO DAMAGE to the case, the various levers/buttons and knobs
Lens is not damaged/cracked
Reel arm moves freely and works as it should
TESTING:
Powers up fine (normal 240V model)
Lamp is WORKING - its a Sylvania SLY 17 type
HOWEVER the motor is not running! I believe this to be a bearing problem, it feels "stiff" and reluctant to move - perhaps the bearings?
I can rotate the motor by hand but it feels stiff.
It is also possible that the carbon brushes will need replacing.
The motor does have power being applied to it, when power is applied it "tries" to turn
The projector uses two rubber belts - BOTH ARE ABSOLUTELY SHOT!. This is a problem with old rubber belts and they will need replacing. I have seen belt sets online for around $10/set.
The reel and the simple drop-down top cover are in good condition
The main body case is ALL METAL - no plastic jobbie here!
NOTE: The blue reel showing in photograph 3 is NO LONGER INCLUDED, already sold separately.
