HISTORY:
This device goes a long way back in time, particularly digital technology which becomes superseded so rapidly. These devices were used with digital cameras, notebooks and PC's using the PCMCIA (PC Card Reader interface port) and were also CF Type II compatible, commonly used in digital cameras of the day.
340Mb doesn't sound like much by today's standards but back in the days of Win 95/98, this was considered a pretty "decent" storage capacity along with fast access times and portability.
Of course these days I don't think any equipment is using these but if you have some older gear and wish to add a bit more storage, this device may be of interest to you.
It is used but known to be working when stored away - we actually had this being used with some dated music recording equipment. I no longer have access to any PCMCIA ports so I have not been able to take a look at what may be on this drive (probably audio files) and really have no idea what the existing data is on the drive.
IOMEGA - Mass Storage MicroDrive
Model: 340Mb
PCMCIA interface (very old!)
Supplied with the original storage case
PCMCIA adapter is supplied (see the photographs - that is actually the adapter and MicroDrive fitted together)
NO driver software supplied, these were intended to be run under WIN 95 or 98 (I told you this was old)
Originally widely used in PC laptops (340Mb was massive back in the day with the added bonus of fast access) and being CF II compatible, also used with digital cameras plus some specialised musical recording equipment that we came across from time to time.
