Goot (Japan) BS-2 Tip refresher

These WTCPN were your classic benchtop temp controlled soldering stations intended for both the hobbyist and professional alike

Weller is an American based company but this unit was assembled here in Australia by The Cooper Group.

Weller invented and patented their unique form of temperature control (note that there is no front panel temperature adjustment) and this set them apart from similar products in the market place.

This temperature control was achieved through the use of magnetic material, controlling the temperature at the tip - originally it was called the "Magnastat"

Weller products can still be found in just about every professional electronics workplace and parts for their older models are still readily available.

COSMETIC CONDITION:

Clean and no damage to casing or the leads

Tip PTA 7 has of course been used, still useable but it will need replacing at some stage - these are easily obtainable (or other Weller approved tips)

NOTE: The yellow sponge and metal tray are MISSING (actually the sponge fell apart!) but these are minor issues which are easy to fix at low cost.

TESTING:

The power base unit provides low voltage (24V) to the soldering iron.

This unit has seen many years of reliable service and will continue to do so - powered it up once again today and absolutely no problems at all.

Carefully checked both the 240V AC input lead and the lower voltage silicon rubber soldering iron lead, no issues at all

Nice unit, ready to be put to immediate use on the electronics workbench.
