Analog temperature controlled soldering station
Now discontinued by Jaycar, replaced by the TS1564 @ A$99.95 retail
Current auction prices (used) appear to be around $50-$55
This equipment has barely been used (maybe once or twice only) as I prefer Weller but this was our emergency "backup" just-in-case but it is no longer needed due to a complete soldering station upgrade to cope with SMD needs.
DURATECH Temperature Controlled Soldering Station
50 Watts
Model: TS1560
Tip fitted: 0.2mm conical NEW
Supplied also with
Original owner operating instructions
A roll of 60/40 1.0mm solder
Tip TS1562 0.2 conical
Chinese made but a good soldering station for the beginner in temp controlled irons. Similar design concepts to Weller equipment but in my opinion, manufactured at a lower cost/standard.
Duratech is sold through the retail channel of Jaycar Electronics, they can supply suitable replacement tips when needed.
This equipment is practically "as new" because I tend to use Weller equipment and this was available "just in case" - especially useful is the ability to precisely control the tip temperature in the range of 200 - 480 degrees C
Main unit provides low voltage (24V) to the soldering iron, not 240V!
Ceramic soldering iron element
COSMETIC CONDITION:
Clean and no damage to casing or the leads
TESTING:
Powers up fine and at various settings the red led comes on (providing power to the soldering iron) and then turns off at the preset temperature (when the temperature is reached at the tip)
Cycles on and off correctly to maintain the desired temperature
Both leads (240V input and the low voltage lead to the soldering iron) are in excellent condition
Barely used, I think just a couple of times in the past - tip is in "as new" condition.
Very nice unit, ready to be put to immediate use on the electronics workbench.
