Telephone collector or restorers spare part
STC Rotary Telephone Dial
Removed from a PMG 801 telephone instrument
If your existing dial doesn't move properly i.e returns very jerky or perhaps just stops completely before fully returning then the governor is probably damaged. It is not difficult to replace the dial in your old rotary telephone but check carefully that this dial I am offering suits your phone.
Look underneath, the series number will most likely be printed on the metal. Also look at the dial - the number ring is on the OUTSIDE of the dial, there are no numbers on the rotary dial mechanism.
NOTE: The number ring is around the outside of the rotary dial, within the finger hole for each number is a gold coloured triangle (which points to the outer number ring)
Rear of the dial is clearly marked 1969
Mostly metal but with plastic inner and finger ring
CONDITION:
The most important part, the governor/contacts etc are in excellent condition - very nice "feel" and smooth return to the rest position, nice tick tick tick tick as it returns.
Mark Space ratio seem to be fine, dial returns at the correct speed
The top plastic finger ring has a small crack in the centre, you can just see it in the photograph. It is still perfectly usable but it might be a nice candidate for a metal finger ring perhaps.
No centre "plastic cap" & cardboard piece for the number - both are missing, the plastic cap could be hard to find but the centre cardboard or paper disc can easily be homemade.
All spade connectors are in very good condition
