Used for a short time in our old house but now that we are with a different service provider, this is not needed by us.
PLEASE REALISE THIS!
The Telstra T-Hub is designed for use ONLY by Telstra broadband customers (Telstra/Big Pond etc) IT IS USELESS FOR OTHER PROVIDERS due to the software in the main unit.
Now, that doesn't mean if you are not with Telstra that it is totally useless - it's not but you cannot use the full facilities unless you are a Telstra customer.
The cordless phone will still work fine, and it does, but the Hub (the much larger iPad looking device) will not work at all.
There are 3 components being offered here....
a) Telstra T-Hub with cradle - this has a large screen with preinstalled apps such as Youtube etc
b) Telstra Cordless Handset with cradle - a normal cordless phone
c) Telstra T-Hub Transmitter/Receiver - this talks to the T-Hub and the cordless phone.
All original chargers are supplied (this Telstra gear is actually Siemens from Germany)
Full (but not original) user manual is supplied - deals with using the T-Hub mainly.
Line cable for the telephone line is supplied
I am not going to go into how to set these up except to say it is dead easy!
Plug the square unit (with a blue light in the centre) into the power and connect the Telstra line.
Plug in the T-Hub and Telephone handset anywhere you like in the house
To use the handset, just use as any normal cordless phone.
The T-Hub is also easy to set up BUT as I say repeatedly above - you cannot proceed with installation unless you have an email address with a Telstra associated domain name (bigpond.com/bigpond.net.au/telstra.com/direct.telstra.net) - installation stops dead until you provide this information AND THE SYSTEM VERIFIES IT - you cannot bypass this so if you are not a subscriber, nothing else can happen.
Nice setup though and ultra contemporary - although we have to say the T-Hub is just a bit on the heavy side compared to something like an iPad.
Oh, we have charged the T-Hub and Cordless phone - batteries are all fine and holding their charge.
The protective film across the screen of the T-Hub and handset are still in place BUT note that the top right corner of the handset screen has taken a hit while we were moving - the screen is still fine and it doesn't affect reading it, but you can see the crack on the screen glass.
