HISTORY:
Geez these date back quite a while but not too old because they are made from thermoplastic not bakelite! I cannot find out much about the company McMurdo although I see a number of valve sockets from them online but the seller states they are British made whereas these sockets clearly indicate they are Australian product. Perhaps McMurdo set up a manufacturing facility here in Australia, I really don't know.
McMURDO (Australia) - Valve Socket
Part # M9M AUST (stamped into the top of the valve socket but EXTREMELY SMALL text)
9 Pin
Flange for vertical mounting
Solder tag connection
Side exit for wiring
Materials: Thermoplastic Black (9 pin valve socket) Mushroom (body)
DIMENSIONS:
When mounted using the two holes in the flange, sitting vertically, the top section above the socket is 14mm height
This top section is 28mm outside diameter
Underside, the solder tags for the pins are recessed into the base 12 ~ 14mm (difficult to measure accurately)
NOTE: Because the solder tags are recessed, soldering could be a "challenge" as there is not much space to work in. I cannot see that the socket can be removed from the body.
The mounting holes (3.5mm diameter) are 40mm apart
The base section has a removable "clip fit" thermoplastic section
COSMETIC CONDITION:
NEW
Old Stock
CLEAN
NO damage to the socket at all
All contacts are clean and shiny (topside and solder tags)
