Now this is definitely not a standard number from the numbering systems such as JEDEC etc and I cannot remember the systems I kept these as spare parts for.
Most likely the only use would be if the user found some gear with these same Q439's in place, then these are perfect drop in replacements if required

I am assuming the part number Q439 is actually the part designation in the equipment design - NOT the actual device part number
J E is probably a date manufacturing code
9401 I am assuming is a batch code
I have searched the code lists that Motorola used/uses on their transistors but nothing indicates what the Q might mean.
