Sustainability is the name of the game! Anything (that has been tested and still functioning properly) should be repurposed creating saving in wasted Ee and reducing the poisoning our environment when items are buried in the earth at the local tip needlessly.
Never heard of Ee? It is a concept that creates a measurement of ALL things (not just electronics) that humans have made and the energy used in obtaining the raw material, processing the materials right through to a finished product and even should include the shipping of the item to the distributors/retailers.

So useful if you are restoring OLD electronic equipment, particularly amplifiers and general industrial equipment -I personally just love these old style heavy toggle switches with that nice audible "click" when operated, the way switches SHOULD be - none of this 'mamsy pamsy' soft touch switch technology and there is nothing like that tactile feedback from a good old toggle switch.
This switch is IDENTICAL to the switch HERE but that switch does NOT come with ON-OFF metal (Aluminium) decal - that is the main difference between the two switches

Looked all over the body and although identical to another UNMARKED switch, this one does have TAIWAN stamped into the body, no company logo nor makers name

Black body which I believe is thermoplastic although when I first saw this I instantly thought "Bakelite"! but I have my doubts, the equipment isn't THAT old and my Bakelite tests did not show it to be such.
All chromed finish to the toggle arm and front metal section
ON-OFF Red & Black printed Aluminium decal is supplied, this fits over the switch shaft and can be rotated 360 for positioning.
Interesting to note that there are two small bolts from the rear that go right through to the front metal plate which seems to indicate you COULD dismantle the switch to take a look inside at the contacts (not advisable though, I have done this before and springs come flying out!)

Fine for 240V AC switching, this was it's previous purpose in life BUT keep the current low - below 1A or roughly 250VA and all should be fine for the contacts.

Physical toggle action is positive and secure in both directions.
ON-OFF decal has light scratching damage but still serviceable.
Contact resistance checked, no issues here at all
Solder tags are relatively clear of previous solder and the body is unaffected by the previous de-soldering.
Unlike the other identical switch I have advertised, the body on this switch is A1 (no exploding cap next door to it!)
I have now placed this switch into a sealed clear plastic packet, waiting to be "reborn" into another piece of equipment!
