Ex 1980's ~ 1990's broadcast equipment
Schadow (Rudolf Schadow Company) were based in Germany but now seem to have been acquired by the C & K Group
These indicating switches from Schadow (Germany) are quite unique, its not about the mechanical switch but the special ingenious ON-OFF indicator inside the front button.
These switches provide clear indication of the switch position but use no power or light source for the indicator.
Inside the front button is a small circular 'flap' that, when activated, changes the front of the button from Black to Orange
The indicator mechanism operates indepdently of the mechanical switch and is operated by a 'finger' which the user must secure in a suitable position (there is a hook at the end of the finger for this purpose)
Brilliant! and they look super retro as well!
SCHADOW - Mechanical Indicating Switch
Type: the only marking on the body is the manufacturer and 9
Switch: DPDT
Operation method: Push ON Push OFF (Locking)
Switch contact ratings are unknown but it would be sensible to use this for low voltage purposes only NOT 240V AC!
PCB mounting, solder pins on one side and the 'other side' of the switch the same contacts are duplicated as solder tags (topside)
Pin pitch is 3.4mm
Front button (removeable) diameter: 10mm
Length (Switch OFF) is 52mm
Length (Switch ON) is 49.5mm
Switch body: 23mm x 9mm x 7mm
All plastic body with the exception of the mechanical spring/locking mechanism
CONDITION:
Used but very clean switch and termination pins/solder tags.
NO damage to the button or mechanism - operates smoothly, locking securing in each position
Since removal, I have now carefully packed and sealed this mechanical switch assembly in plastic to preserve the condition
