Oh Dear! This item has been sold but take a look around for other similar items

Sustainability is the name of the game! Anything (that has been tested and still functioning properly) should be repurposed creating saving in wasted Ee and reducing the poisoning our environment when items are buried in the earth at the local tip needlessly.

Never heard of Ee? It is a concept that creates a measurement of ALL things (not just electronics) that humans have made and the energy used in obtaining the raw material, processing the materials right through to a finished product and even should include the shipping of the item to the distributors/retailers.

If you would like to know more about Ee values, please take a look HERE

HISTORY:

Hmmm another random find from one of the boxes I am sorting through ... and to make matters worse, I did not identify the equipment I removed this from (many years ago)

The information I can readily provide is very basic stuff, this is offered to someone for experimentation or, heaven forbid, they have equipment which actually uses this component! It would have been from a commercial or military communications system but there have been so many! Funny thing, I keep having this thought "Collins" and I did have some very nice Collins communications equipment but that's probably just my brain being wishful!

UNKNOWN/UNIDENTIFIED MANUFACTURER - Crystal Filter (?)

There is a company logo on one side (printed in Black) but I do not recognise it - it looks a little like Mitsubishi Electric but I don't think it is

I am 99% sure it is a crystal filter but have no idea what the specifications may be.

Probably wide band, 25 - 30 or even 50Khz due to the age

Identification stamped into the top of the case

961594

(Nothing else)

5x wire pins on the underside, 4 in a row and 1 pin is set aside from the others

Encased in epoxy resin

It "looks" for all the world like a crystal filter

I made DC resistance tests between all pins and also to the outer shield - infinity, there are no readable resistance paths between these pins

DIMENSIONS:

Large (style of case strongly suggests a crystal filter)

39.85mm length x 30.25mm wide x 22mm height

Wire pins are 5mm length, pulled from a PCB

WEIGHT: 45g

This weight is noticeably heavier than "other" similar crystal filters e.g the NDK I have on offer - more crystal poles/lattice?

COSMETIC CONDITION:

USED

CLEAN

ALL pins, are clean and remain easy to reuse either through hole on a PCB or hard-wire connect.

There are NO mounting bolts, all support for the case comes from the pins only (no side tabs or bolts)

Now packed into a sealed clear plastic packet awaiting an experimenter to delve into the world of crystal filters to find out the characteristics of this one ...
